Master Movers

I thought I was making the right decision by choosing a company that advertised as moving the Pacers and the Colts, worse moving decision I’ve ever made! I had a 2 day move due to closing on the sale of a house and purchasing agreements. The day to load was a disaster. I asked for 3 movers. Two movers and a trainee was sent. Not only did the trainee stand around and wait on instructions, there was a huge language barrier, and it was all on the clock of my hourly rate. They boxed up items, I did not ask to be boxed or needed to be boxed, and did not protect the necessary items. What was quoted as a 3 hour load, turned into 6 hours, all at my expense. I was quoted a lesser amount on the 2nd day to get the truck to leave the lot and drop off items. I was then called by the office to tell my my card declined when they tried to charge double. After multiple arguments and discussion the owner and I sat down with a resolution. At time of drop off I was sent 3 trained employees with the 4th training. Not only did things go quicker, it only too an hour to unload. Since I already paid for 4 hours, I asked to reassemble furniture. My footboard was put on backwards with pricing stickers showing. The dining room table legs were so loose, it rocked, and had a lot of damage. That same footboard was banged up quite a bit, a brand new full size headboard was cracked, my nursery rocker is broken and unable to be sat in, as well as a dining room table heavily damaged and scratched, along with a separate kitchen table set damaged. As we all know it takes time to unpack and get settled. Because I did not report all of the damages within 72 hours, they refuse to reimburse for damages. I have actual pictures of my items in the truck poorly packed, which the owner commented will cause damages. It took 3 months for the reimbursement to be denied. I would highly discourage anyone of having their possessions they work hard for moved by this company with such lazy and dishonest employees. I truly believe Master Movers take advantage of women moving alone, milking the clock and racking up unnecessary charges. Things went so much quicker males present to keep them going.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2200

Estimate was $350.

Showed up seven hours late. Said that the cost of moving materials was "accidentally" not included in estimate and it would now be $650 or they could find someone else. Damaged furniture and milked the clock by being on phone for first half hour then wanted to round up fifteen minutes when finishing at five after the quarter hour. Would not give a copy of receipt. Actual charge to bank was over $800. Said they would "compensate" for being so late and now will not answer any calls about that or about the money they STOLE from my parents.

Service cost: $810

I was told they would arrive between 9-11 am, they showed up at 12 pm. The "foreman" counts all my items and says it will take approx 6 hours to move my items to my new apartment ACROSS THE STREET and it will cost $584. We had a little argument. They charged my card $584 before they even started the work. It took them 3 hours to move my belongings. Could've been 2 hours if the foreman got off his rear-end and did anything. At least 15 items were never even moved and we had to do it ourselves because we didn't realize they were still in our old apartment until they left. Our apartment was a mess as well from all their trash. The "foreman" should've been doing his job and made sure none of this happened but instead he was too busy sitting in his truck talking on the phone. Several items were damaged. Then when all is said and done, the job was almost $300 less than they charged me for, but I can't get the money back until next week because they already charged my account $584. It was a terrible experience and I will never use this company again. I recommend you do the same.

Completely was disappointed with the service.I called and scheduled a very simple move (a few pieces of furniture).Initially when I called I spoke to a very nice woman and scheduled my move for the following day.After hanging up the movers called me back and asked if they could come the same day instead(for the inconvenice they would charge me a FLAT fee vs hourly). I agreed and rushed home from work. They later charged me extra fees that they did not mention and they also did not assemble my furniture upon arrival as well as lost screws etc for my bed. Also one of the movers asked to use my bathroom (no big deal, O I THOUGHT) and he actually urinated all over my floor. Which I failed to notice until they left. Pretty much just a pain, should've got a UHAUL !

This was one of the top moving companies on the web last winter when I was looking to move from the Kokomo area to Indianapolis, I regret not doing more homework on them. Awful experience and its been over 90 days since they moved my belongings from storage to my new home and still no claim recovery for the money lost for the items they packed and busted while moving. I packed my best china extremely well and then they got dropped and all of them busted but I chalked that up to my fault because I was the one to pack them even though they were packed very well. And almost all of my end tables had their glass busted or broke and I have never gotten a dime to replace them. I have called, emailed, and texted the owner Ben weekly and still nothing. I have even asked to call the claims office myself and can't get a number or companies name. I have sent photos of all broken items in July and still nothing. On top of all that, some items were also reported MISSING in May of 2017 when they moved me to storage and I filed a police report, nothing has been found from that either. Please don't EVER use this company to move anything of yours. I repeat DONT USE THEM.

Had a long distancs move with these guys. Worst experience of my life. The owner and deliverer were both bullies. At one time the delivery guy said "if we were in his country, he'd smack my wife on her face" when simply asked why are we being charged extra for long haul. They cheat costumer by being extremely non transparent. When the owner came to our house for evaluating what needed to be moved, we clearly said 'every single thing needs to be moved, even the smallest of the spoons'. We were given an estimate and we booked. But later, when the packers arrived, they said that in the estimate it was quoted only for major items like sofa's and furniture and everything else would be charged extra. Then he pointed to an email that the owner sent, which at the very bottom had, in fine print, a table with description of items that need to be moved. That was on the day before I had to start my job in the new state. So we ended up paying them. When the things arrived, they wont park near my entry way, but at least 500 feet farther so they can charge me extra for those extra steps. The delivery guy was absolute bully and extremely belligerent, threatening us through the course. I have never encountered such a person in this country through out my life, and I have encountered some bad ones, but none as bad as this guy. He was cussing in his native language (arabic) on everyone, had his whole family (wife and 2-3 kids) in the truck with him, and was being bully to his own family as well. Overall, this was the worst experience of my life. Personal advice, do not hire them. Look for an established company, even if they charge you more. Believe me you'd be much happier.

Watch out! Master Movers in Indianapolis is unbelievably unprofessional and unethical! The movers are creepy, dirty and scary. They drive un-marked trucks! They packed up our house, stored our stuff (supposedly in climate control storage) and moved our stuff into our new house. They just threw everything into boxes (heavy stuff on top of breakables) and hit me up for a cash tip when they finished! ALL of our clothing and bedding every piece of upholstered furniture arrived smelling like mildew, every piece of wood furniture was broken and scratched, dishes, pottery and ceramic pieces were broken, picture frames were broken or scratched and every lamp was bent and broken. 2 trucks arrived with our stuff and we called 1-800 GOT JUNK to dispose of a truck load. We had to replace 4 mattresses, 3 couches, dozens of chairs, all of our bedding and towels, all of our kids stuffed animals, all of our rugs and tons of clothing. Our wood furniture might as well be fire wood now because it all needs to be replaced. To add insult to injury they stole our large screen TV!

I agree completely with so many of the comments in other posts..I wish I had read them before we hired Master Movers. We could not be more disappointed in Master Movers. They are dishonest, unprofessional, and they do not respond to calls. While I am happy to say we did not have damaged items, they charged us nearly TWICE what they originally quoted, racking up hidden charges, overtime, etc. When we disputed the price, they threatened to impound our belongings. I don't know how the owners/managers sleep at night. We are considering legal action against them. If you value your belongings and your sanity, use another mover!

Mastermovers lied about being a national company with drivers as employees. Lied about delivery process. They subcontracted two idiots to deliver. Delivery was in two budget rental trucks, Guys were unprofessional--would not give me their company names or their personal last names. They FORCED me to sign receipt of all items before they would unload. I said that was not legal but they threaten to leave without unloading our items. Several items were damaged, destroyed, soiled, missing. Our contract stated that items would remain in Master Movers company and they would deliver, unpack and reassemble items. Ben Moshe, the sale representative, stated many things that were untrue.
Company refused to settle damages based on 60 cents per lb of damaged items--which is what they quoted.
Claims Dept will not answer phone or talk to you.
BAD COMPANY--DO NOT USE.

We used Master Movers in April and it was a terrible mistake. First, they neglected to disclose the added fees associated with the move until they arrived at our home preparing to move us. So, we unfortunately had no choice but to continue. Then, we experienced a significant amount of damage to furniture, I.e. scratches on stainless steel appliances, broken couch (we recently purchased), broken dining room table, and the list continues. We put in a claim for only the items that had major damage and was given a bs excuse as to why they could not pay the claim. Beware..do not make the same mistake we did by using this company.

Service cost: $700

Marilyn was excellent to book our move through. She was thorough, helpful and professional. We were scheduled to move Saturday between 9-11 and Keith and his guy called and they arrived at 9:30. They were very professional, courteous and helpful. They took care of everything like it was their own. They moved us down a flight of stairs across town and up to a third floor apartment all in less than 3 hours. I was amazed and impressed by their ability and genuine good nature in completing the job so efficiently. I'm getting a refund even??. Best money I've ever spent too bad it's my third child, wish I would have known how easy and cheap it could be. Thanks to master movers!

Beware of Ben, the slick Israeli sales guy with his family photos and caring words. Ignore his "brag book" talking about all the happy VIP customers. It turns out that most of the staff are undocumented workers as well as untrained. The fact is, it was one of the worst experiences of our lives let alone the worst move we have ever experienced and we have moved many times.
When speaking to their sales representative Ben, our major concern was the priceless art we wanted them to move, specifically a sculpture worth several thousand dollars. We were advised to ship it in the original shipping crate from the artist in the United Kingdom which we did. We were advised to take out an insurance policy on several of the expensive pieces which we did at great expense. Ben Slick even said they would pay for the deductible which we thought was really nice of him. Not knowing at the time they had no intention of paying it. He gave us his personal promise to take care of everything. Their ad suggested "We pamper your possessions"
Our experience started when noticing their staff all of which had trouble communicating in English banging our belongings into walls.
1. Our beautiful dining table was rolled down the stairs to the front door and beyond like a giant wheel by one guy. Granted it was wrapped in a disgustingly dirty quilted blanket however that did not protect it from all of the stress cracks and cracking of the finish. It also arrived with a deep gouge across the top from something that was in the cloth maybe a staple or grit, who knows.
2. Our King size mahogany side rails and head and foot board were destroyed and left unusable
3. The back of the master bedroom dresser was smashed and a knob missing.
4. The futon was left disassembled and had missing parts.
5. A dining chair leg was broken off.
6. Our media center table was badly scuffed/rubbed from straps that were too tight.
7. My beautiful sculpture arrived at our destination standing on end even though arrows clearly marked "this way up" as well as fragile labels that were ignored. The sculpture which is irreplaceable was broken and cannot be repaired.
We were told our belongings would be packed and moved without being unloaded, they lied and they were repacked. The truck was totally rearranged and items missing on arrival. Clearly they needed to use the truck in between when they loaded and then delivered our belongings.
We spent a lot of money extra to get the Allianz insurance through relocationinsurance dot com so we filled out a claim only to be told absolutely nothing was covered based on the paperwork they received from the moving company. Clearly Ben did not want to pay the deductible. What a scam.. Do not use any of these companies.
The movers also asked for 50% cash at pickup which was a first for me and of course with no advance warning. They called to say they would be several hours late for delivery only to call with no notice to be several hours early. They refused to accept a cashier's check from Western Union until I said fine you will have to come back. The two men mover's team was exhausted and again banged everything around. They left several items of furniture in pieces. They took pictures of all the damage and we never received a phone call or anything from the office and wonderful Ben.
Total damage was over $7,600 and we are now told by the insurance company it is not covered. The insurance cost close to $500. So, we are out over $8,000 and again not even a phone call. I left several messages with no call back.
This is the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to working with. Most dishonest sales person I have encountered in any industry.

  Please run as fast as you can from this lying owner and moving company after scheduling a move with them, they showed up 5 hours late, started loading, started loading our furniture and warned us that the cost would probably be more than quoted. Had no idea at the time that they meant more than twice as much. When we found out that the intention was to charge us an extra $3800 dollars, we asked that they remove our furniture from the truck and refund our money which had already been debited to our charge card. We were told the owner was in Israel at the time, and they couldn't make a decision without him! Interesting in this day and times of instant communications and cell phones! This guy needs to be de-fanged. We have gone to the BBB (national and local), state attorney general's office, American movers association, but this guy just thumbs his nose at any regulatory organization. He promised (in writing), to refund half our stolen money, but that was at the end of may, 2013. And we still haven't heard from him, his office manager, or the crooked sales person that gave us the quote. This company is bad news, and no one seems to be able to do anything about them! If you use them you will get burned. Period! I will keep writing these reviews as long as I can. I have incurable cancer, and could really have used the money that was stolen from us for my mounting medical bills. Please steer clear of this slickster and his company.. They suck you in with a low-ball quote over the phone, then the lies and cheating start - from the owner down to the actual movers they send to your home. Run..Run..Run!

DO NOT DO THE MISTAKE OF BEING LURED INTO MOUTHWATERING LOW QUOTATIONS. This company is a big time cheat. Here is a breakdown of their tactics1. They will provide you a very tempting quotation. This is what they call a "BINDING CONTRACT" and literally it will only bind you to a tempting price and a [EDIT] company business. THIS BINDING ESTIMATE IS NOT THE FINAL SUM YOU WILL PAY. YOU WILL BE PAYING ABOUT 3 TIMES. 2. When you contact them, the company OWNER (who is the head crook) will come to your place and will perform a "thorough" inspection of what all needs to be moved.Sure when you are planning to move, everything needs to go, but no, in a future communication when you agree to have business with them thinking the head crook has already been shown everything that needs to be moved, he will send you a long long email, at the end of which would lie a very short list of items which they will move. 3. You agree to this email, and when the day of move comes, another crook will come to your place and will tell you that you signed the agreement and they will only move only a short list of items. All other items will have to be charged extra. 4. Before the move, the head crook might also throw some FREEBIES to lure you further and let you in thinking of them being such nice people. But on the day of move, they will even charge you for extra piece of tape.5. The head crook will tell you that your THINGS ARE INSURED. BELIEVE YOU ME, THERE IS ZERO INSURANCE. 6. The move WILL BE THE WORST THING YOU WILL EVER EXPERIENCE IN YOUR LIFE. And this is not an extrapolation. 7. These are most DISRESPECTFUL people in business. I definitely believe it has something to do with their roots. (You'll know when you will meet them, and understand if you end up doing business with them).So my genuine advice is save yourself from the greatest misery you will ever experience in your life by not hiring this company. Moving is frustrating as it is, and this company will take it to greatest extent.  Instead hire a bigger company. P.S. THEY SUCK. DO NOT DO THE MISTAKE OF YOUR LIFE BY HIRING THEM. I cannot stress further.

I hired Master movers to move my furniture from Columbus IN to Indianapolis IN. The workers were very effiecient and worked effectively. They were very respectful and professional. There attire was very casual with a company shirt. Not a big problem for me, as long as they do their job and Their job they did very well. No damage to any of my items. They were very timely in their work. They moved my 3 br house with very large/ heavy furniture to my new house in 6 hrs including drive time. I had disassembled everything prior to their arrival. I removed the doors that needed to be removed prior to them working, So all they had to do was wrap my furniture to protect it and carry it out. Louis and his crew were outstanding. They explained everything to me and if they had any questions or concerns they addressed them with me prior to moving anything. I am very satisfied with Master movers and the job they did! Thanks for making a stressful time, relaxing!   If I can give you a suggestion as a customer that is going to hire a moving company, be very thorough on your description of furniture. Explain if they have to disassemble the furniture or if they are going to be asked to package items up into boxes. Its your time and your money. So the more you can do to prep for the move the easier it will be and cheaper on you. Your paying by the hr. So the more they are required to do to prep for the move, the more time and money its going to cost. Master movers does a great job and your not going to beat the hourly price. I appreciate all the communication and answers to the questions I had. Linda was very informative on everything. Thank you for being a great company!  .

These were the worst movers!  When I set up the appt, the gentleman on the phone was great and they really seemed like they had *their* stuff together.  The 3 movers we got were awful!  They fought with each other and took 3X longer than they should have.  At one point, my husband and I were moving our stuff in while they were sitting around have one of their "many" breaks and was watching us!  It was crazy.  Then they charged us more than double for the move that they quoted us.  I made several complaints and no one was willing to do the "right thing" and refund us for all the trouble.  Will never use again!
